Partial Solar Eclipse – Nashville – October 14, 2023
On October 14, 2023, I walked out into my back yard with my Nikon D750 and pointed the business end of the attached Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 telephoto lens at the sky.
My camera was on a sensitivity setting of ISO 79, the shutter speed was at 1/4000 sec., and the lens aperture was at f/22. The sun was completely blown out in the images I captured. I was not using my neutral density filter, which might have made it possible to get some detail in the sun. But then, I might also have lost the subtle colors in the clouds.
